Crawford International Fourways learners donated non-perishable food to support Rolemodels Foundation’s, Power Tower initiative on November 18.

Fourways resident and Mrs Gauteng 2021, Jaci Tibbit has been visiting schools and communities to encourage people to donate food.

She said the Power Tower initiative was aimed at feeding hungry and needy communities across the country.

“Many people lost their jobs and their source of income as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak… The donated food will be distributed to help our nation in need over this very difficult and challenging time. Individually, we are one drop but together we are an ocean. I believe this speaks to the power we have when we bond together with great purpose,” Tibbit said.

Principal at the school, Ian Rothman said initiatives such as Power Tower helped the learners to understand the challenges faced by some in their communities.

“Crawford International Fourways supported the Power Tower as the focus of our educational philosophy. Our students need to understand their local community as well as the challenges being faced. Poverty is a challenge in South Africa and by supporting this wonderful initiative our students can take action and donate towards individuals and communities that may need support during these challenging times,” Rothman added.
