The legacy continues with Broadacres Academy High School!

There is a definitive need to move schooling and learning to a model of education that allows students to be engaged contributors in their schooling.

We welcome Broadacres Academy High School to greater Fourways with a contemporary campus bordering Cedar Road.

Imagine a school where students never stop loving learning.

Imagine a school where students are always engaged and involved in their educational journey.Imagine a school where students are recognised as unique and are not compared to each other on a performance curve.

Imagine a school where teachers understand and believe that learning is a journey of exploration.

This is the school we are creating at Broadacres Academy.

Bells, homework projects, tests and exams often turn learning into a managerial convenience, and the joy of learning often fades as students are faced with marks and averages and being pitted against fellow learners in a battle for the best prize at valediction. In our post-modern world, there is a definitive need to move schooling and learning to a model of education that allows students to be engaged contributors in their schooling. Broadacres Academy Pre-primary and Preparatory schools were born out of a desire to create places of learning where children could learn naturally without fear and maintain their natural love of learning throughout their school years and beyond. This superb educational focus has proven so popular in the area that it has facilitated a need for the development of the High School. To this end, Broadacres Academy High School will continue to provide the following:

  • Unique facilities, with purpose-built learning spaces that differ from a traditional classroom with flexible spaces that expand beyond the barriers of the classroom.
  • The quality of the teaching staff and their passion to ensure the learning environment is conducive to engaging children in their natural love of learning.
  • Extra-curricular activities on offer include aquatics, tennis, netball, rugby, hockey, cross country, netball, basketball, golf, chess, public speaking/debating, photography club, drama club, art club, choir, music ensembles, first aid and community outreach.
  • An affordable pricing structure that aims to deliver quality education but also serve the needs of the wider South African setting.

Broadacres Academy High School is situated within 3km of the Preschool and Preparatory School campus and borders Cedar Road. The focus in the High School moves strategically towards more specialised learning, allowing students to focus on their strengths and to discover what drives their interests and passion. By the time students reach Grade 10, they need to have a good understanding of how they learn and know what subjects they want to take to Grade 12 to complete the National Senior Certificate under the auspices of the IEB. Colleen Traviss-Lea has been tasked with driving the Broadacres Academy vision into the high school. The high school opens its doors to its first Grade 7, 8 and 9 students in January 2022 with Grades 10 to 12 added in the years to follow. The first Matric group will write the NSC in 2025.
