Local micro enterprises get advertising boost worth R150 000 from Caxton Media Publishers

RIVERSANDS – Enterprise Development B-BBEE initiative is aimed at helping local enterprises get exposure to potential customers.


The Covid-19 pandemic has put financial pressure on many local micro businesses, and to enable these enterprises to thrive a again, Caxton Media Publishers Joburg North branch has embarked on a mission to lend a helping hand.

Through its Enterprise Development B-BBEE initiative, the local media giant will give four local micro enterprises advertising space worth R150 000.

Speaking at the launch of the initiative at Riversands Incubation Hub on November 3, Caxton Joburg North branch manager, Norman Dawe said the initiative was aimed at helping local enterprises get exposure to potential customers.

“CTP Limited Group, the Caxton Local Media Enterprise Development B-BBEE initiative is an important aspect of our business. As a local newspaper, we are thrilled to be able to support a few of these micro enterprises within our area and assist them in growing their business,” he said.

“We see these micro enterprises as a massive part of the future within the local area and in time, build up to be bigger businesses and employ more locals too.”

Fashion designer and one of the beneficiaries, Pulane Mogopodi, said the initiative would help her business thrive once again after it took a knock last year due to the pandemic.

“Our business has designed and manufactured female clothing since 2009. We used to supply different stores for a period of three years before we took a knock due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year. I believe that this programme will help us as a business to thrive once again,” she said.
