The Bridge Assisted Learning School promises to with its emphasis on diversity in the classrooms

BEVERLEY– Pienaar assured parents and learners that the school will continue to put emphasis on the diversity in the classrooms as it has done in the past five years.

Principal at The Bridge Assisted Learning School, Dr Greg Pienaar said his school would continue to offer intimate class sizes appropriate to best practice for assisted learning as it phases in Grade 8 and 9 in 2022.

The school which caters for learners with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, attention deficit disorder, anxiety, high-functioning autism, and other learning difficulties such as issues with auditory processing, will soon celebrate its fifth year of existence.

“It is a time to reflect on the school’s past and those who have helped to shape who we are, and to acknowledge the community members, both past and present, who have influenced the character and values that embody the vibrant, engaging, and safe environment we see today.

“It is an opportunity to laugh, cry, remember, and to praise the memories of this wonderful school. While looking back on where we have come from, we are very excited to also look forward to where we are going,” Pienaar said.

Pienaar added that the school would continue to put emphasis on the diversity in the classroom that included the differences in the way students’ brains learnt, or neurodiversity. “Neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactive disorder affect increasingly large numbers of students.
“Our education system works to meet the needs of these students and ensure that all types of learners thrive at school and beyond. It is for this reason that the school is also phasing in a high school, with Grade 8 and 9 already being available in 2022.”
