Douglasdale police are investigating an incident in which a 22-year-old man was allegedly attacked by a group of unknown men at Cedar Square on September 26.
Douglasdale Police Station spokesperson, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, said, “A case of assault common has been opened at Douglasdale Police Station. The police are still investigating the matter and no one has been arrested yet.”
The victim’s mother who asked that her identity no be revealed to protect her son, said he suffered multiple body and facial injuries during the alleged attack.
“My son was viciously attacked on Sunday night, 26 September at Cedar Square by seven perpetrators. He has a fractured elbow, bruised ribs, bruised lips and his eye was swollen closed. We have opened a case at Douglasdale Police Station. I hope that justice will prevail and all the perpetrators go to jail for what they did to my son,” the mother said.
