Community members bid farewell to Jean Berdou who is moving to the UK

LONEHILL – The advocate has been an active, energetic and passionate servant of the Douglasdale community for many years.


Joburg North community members gathered at Lonehill Shopping Centre this afternoon (October 8) to bid farewell to community activist Advocate Jean Berdou who is emigrating to the United Kingdom.

Berdou has been an active, energetic and passionate servant of the Douglasdale community for many years. 

Among the roles he played, Berdou served as chairperson of the Joburg West Community Policing Forum Cluster, which includes Florida, Roodepoort, Linden, Randburg, Honeydew, Cosmo City, Douglasdale and Diepsloot.

Former MMC for Community Safety in the City of Johannesburg Michael Sun, Ward 94 councillor David Foley and Ward 106 councillor Chris Santana were among those who attended Berdou’s farewell.
