Jungle gym will do the trick

WITKOPPEN– Kahn said the jungle gym will help provide children at the facility with a safe playing environment.

Witkoppen Clinic management has thanked Jungle Trix gym manufacturing company for donating a brand new jungle gym at the Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s site in Diepsloot.

Business development manager at the clinic, Dagmar Kahn said, “The clinic established an Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s programme in the year 2000. The programme assists 606 children from impoverished communities such as Diepsloot, Thabo Mbeki, and Msawawa informal settlements. Many of these children have to assume adult responsibilities as they live with ill relatives or elderly grandparents who are often too frail to adequately care for them.”

Kahn added, “Some children are themselves HIV positive. They can be highly stigmatised in their communities and are vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.

“They are also more likely to be out of school and struggling with psychosocial challenges associated with the experience of the devastating loss or chronic illness of parents and other family members.”

Kahn explained that the jungle gym would help provide children at the site with a safe playing environment.

“Witkoppen Clinic extends a massive thank you to Jungle Trix for donating a brand new jungle gym to our Orphan’s and Vulnerable Children’s site in Diepsloot.”

She concluded, “The children are excited about their new playground and are enjoying spending their days playing and having fun on the jungle gym.”
