Diepsloot police officers arrested a 23-year-old female suspect for attempted murder on 6 May.
Spokesperson for the Diepsloot Police Station, Captain Tinyiko Mathebula said that a female victim (29) claimed on 11 April that the suspect, known to the victim, accosted her and poured boiling cooking oil on her body when she was in her boyfriend’s car.
“The victim sustained burn injuries and was rushed to hospital. She later came to open a case of attempted murder,” he said, adding that the suspect was then arrested.
She appeared in Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 7 May.
