Thirty suspects caught

DOUGLASDALE – With the assistance of JMPD, Douglasdale police arrested 30 suspects for various crimes.


Between 2 and 5 April, Douglasdale police and Metro police arrested 30 suspects during a number of joint operations conducted throughout the area.

During the operations, suspects were arrested for various crimes.

Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, spokesperson of the Douglasdale Police Station said, “They were arrested for crimes ranging from assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, reckless and negligent driving, shoplifting and Contravention of Disaster Management Act.

“The arrest of the suspects is an indication that the police are determined to ensure that the community of Douglasdale is safe.”

The arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon. Community members are encouraged to keep reporting all criminal activities in their areas by phoning them on 011 699 1300/1320 or on 08600 10111. Alternatively, they can use MySAPS to send anonymous tip-offs or go to the nearest police station.
