A 68-year-old senior citizen who lives alone, Princess Dlamini, has praised founders of the local soup kitchen for their efforts to feed the poor every day.

Dlamini, who receives two meals daily from Ikemeleng Soup Kitchen, said she had found herself at home with ‘granddaughters and grandsons’ who take care of her every day. “I have found myself a new home in Ikemeleng Soup Kitchen. As an elderly person with some limitations due to health complications, I sometimes find it difficult to cook every day,” Dlamini said.

Unemployed mother of two, Ntswaki Maake said things have been hard for her family since lockdown regulations were introduced. She said, “I’m one of the people who have benefitted the most since this soup kitchen was started last year. Things have been extremely difficult for me as an unemployed single mother of two.
