Mad SA seeks assistance helping the Midrand SPCA

MIDRAND – Making A Difference South Africa appeals to residents of Midrand to assist the Midrand SPCA this Easter, as part of their Annual Animal Welfare Easter Charity.

As part of their annual Animal Welfare Easter Charity, Making A Difference South Africa (Mad SA) has appealed to residents to assist the Midrand SPCA.

Chief executive officer of the non-profit organisation, Chan Naidoo, said due to Covid-19, the tremendous strain has been placed on the SPCA and animal rescue services. He added that regular donors have been financially impacted by Covid-19 which resulted in a negative trickle-down impact on these essential animal welfare agencies.

Naidoo said they hope to raise adequate funding to assist the organisation, “It is time for us to unite and bring much-needed aid to our furry friends.

“Although the bulk of the focus during the Covid-19 pandemic was on people, it would be remiss of us to neglect focus on animals who have been on the receiving end of the financial downturn as a result of Covid-19.

“The SPCA Midrand has played a vital role in providing care and shelter for animals in distress or where animals have been abandoned. This great humanitarian role played by the SPCA can only be achieved if they have adequate basic supplies to ensure they can take care of animal welfare.”

Naidoo concluded that it was through the initiative that Mad SA would provide collective aid to assist the SPCA.

“We appeal to the residents of Midrand to join hands with us and make a material and meaningful difference.”
