Reddam House Helderfontein is proud of matric results

HELDERFONTEIN – Reddam House Helderfontein celebrates a 100 per cent pass rate.

Reddam House Helderfontein celebrated their 100 per cent matric pass rate on 19 February.

The 46 candidates received 74 distinctions. The learners obtained six rankings in the top one per cent of all Independent Examinations Board (IEB) candidates per subject and 21 learners were in the top five per cent of IEB rankings per subject.

The school also highlighted stories of learners who have overcome significant challenges. Grade 12 learner Larsen Nehemia was stranded in Mozambique during the Covid-19 lockdown and struggled to continue his online learning due to intermittent and poor Wi-Fi connection.

He said, “It was super lonely and isolated out there, but thanks to the incredible support from my Reddam House teachers, fellow students and the awesome Reddam House family, I just hung in there and gave it everything I had.”

Despite these challenges, the school praised Larsen for his wonderful results.

Another learner who overcame significant challenges was Esther Cuba. Her school abruptly shut down early last year and she immediately joined Reddam House Helderfontein on a full scholarship and boarding.

Esther immersed herself fully and attended every available support lesson on offer, with the Reddam House teachers offering her many more lessons, over weekends and late into the evenings.

The school said that she quickly became an integral, much-loved member of the Reddam House Helderfontein school family, passing her matric with flying colours.

The managing director of Reddam House South Africa, Sheena Crawford-Kempster, said, “Given the truly extraordinary circumstances, especially in the light of the adversity we have endured in the 2020 year, our heartiest congratulations to every one of you, on your remarkable matric results.

“You may look forward with great anticipation, to facing any challenges, going into the future. But remember, no matter where you go out in the world – and what you do in life – you will always remain a part of the Reddam House tribe. I wish you the best as you harness your limitless potential – going out into the world and becoming the best `You’ that you can possibly be.”
