Local business gives back to the supportive community of Craigavon

FOURWAYS – Stylianides said the aim of the initiative was to give back to the community and help motorists have a better driving experience in Craigavon streets.

The management and staff members at Papa Pronto restaurant in Craigavon recently embarked on an initiative to fill up notorious potholes on Campbell Road and Elm Avenue as a way of giving back to the community.

Restaurant manager Bianca Stylianides, who was part of a team that exchanged kitchen aprons for work suits, said the aim of the initiative was to give back to the community and help motorists have a better driving experience in Craigavon streets. “Potholes make driving in the streets here a nightmare.

“We have decided to embark on the initiative to fix and fill up potholes in some local streets after realising that motorists were finding it difficult to drive because of these potholes.

“We do this as a way of giving back to the community that has supported our business for the past four years.”

Stylianides added, “The municipality had fixed these potholes many times before but it doesn’t take long for them to resurface again. The traffic jam is unbearable at this intersection, especially in the afternoon as motorists try to dodge these potholes.

She concluded, “Driving around Craigavon neighbourhood is a nightmare and we could not wait for the municipality to come back and patch them again.

“We had to use the little we had to make a difference and give back to the community.”
