Man charged in connection with Paulshof business robbery

PAULSHOF – Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station Captain Granville Meyer said good investigation work led to the arrest of the suspect in a nearby informal settlement.

Sandton detectives arrested a 27-year-old suspect who has been charged as part of an investigation into an alleged business robbery.

Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station Captain Granville Meyer said, “It is alleged that the suspect robbed a business premises in Paulshof of an undisclosed amount of money by threatening the owners with a firearm in August 2018.”

Meyer added that the suspect was scheduled to appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 11 August.

“Good investigation work led to the arrest of the suspect at a squatter camp in the same vicinity as the incident took place.”

Meyer concluded, “We appeal to anyone who may have any information on crime to contact police on the Crime Stop number 086 001 0111. Information can also be communicated via the MySaps App, which can be easily downloaded on any iPhone or Android handset.

“All information will be treated with strictest confidence and informers may remain anonymous.”
