Alleged Sunninghill drug dealer arrested

SUNNINGHILL – The 27-year-old suspect appeared in the Randburg Magistrates' Court on 6 August answering to charges of dealing in drugs.

Operational endeavours to address drug-related crime in the Sandton policing precinct resulted in the arrest of an alleged drug dealer in Sunninghill on 5 August.

Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, Captain Granville Meyer said, “Members of the Crime Prevention Unit were busy conducting crime prevention duties in the area when they spotted a suspicious-looking man and approached him. Upon searching him, the members discovered 27 bank packets of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of cash.”

Meyer added that the 27-year-old suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in drugs and appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 6 August.
“Drug crime will remain a priority for Sandton police and we will continue with our onslaught to root out the scourge.”
