Covid-19: Over 10 000 new coronavirus cases reported

There were 192 deaths due to Covid-19 on 7 July.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize announced that as of 7 July, 10 134 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.

There are 215 855 confirmed cases in South Africa, with 102 299 recoveries as of 7 July.

A further 192 deaths were reported, the total deaths are now 3 502. To date, over 1.9 million tests have been conducted.

The Western Cape remains the province with the highest number of cases with 72 156 confirmed cases however Gauteng is a close second with 71 488 confirmed cases.

In the Eastern Cape, there are 40 401 confirmed cases and KwaZulu-Natal has 16 743 confirmed cases.

Limpopo has 1 950 cases, Mpumalanga has 2 353 cases, North West has 6 842 cases, Northern Cape has 888 cases and the Free State has 3 034 cases.
