Covid-19: Gauteng case numbers rise to 3 583, with 2 035 recoveries and 31 deaths
A total of 332 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities throughout Gauteng with Covid-19.
The Gauteng Department of Health confirmed that on 29 May there were 3 583 confirmed Covid-19 cases, with 2 035 recoveries and 31 deaths.
There are currently 332 people hospitalised in public and private facilities with the virus.
Out of a total of 13 136 contacts traced (these are individuals who were in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19), 10 190 people have completed the 14-day monitoring period with no symptoms and have therefore been de-isolated.
The breakdown per district is as follows:
- Johannesburg: 1 667 cases with 111 new cases, 15 deaths and 1 167 recoveries
- Ekurhuleni: 732 cases with 39 new cases, eight deaths and 495 recoveries
- Tshwane: 457 cases with 21 new cases, four deaths and 289 recoveries
- Sedibeng: 92 cases with 17 new cases, no deaths and 25 recoveries
- West Rand: 312 cases with six new cases, four deaths and 59 recoveries
- Unallocated: 323 cases and 60 new cases.
