Covid-19: Unemployed youth invited to become brigades

Youth residing in Gauteng between the ages of 18 and 35 are invited to apply.

Unemployed youth and graduates in Gauteng are invited to apply for the Covid-19 Brigades Programme.

The programme is part of the Gauteng Department of Education’s overall plan to involve youth in limiting community transmission and outbreaks of Covid-19 within the Gauteng sector.

Youth residing in Gauteng between the ages of 18 and 35 are invited to apply.

Recruited brigades will be placed in schools and government buildings to assist the department with screening of staff and learners, data capturing and monitoring compliance (e.g. social distancing and sanitising).

Brigades are to be trained by the Gauteng City Region Academy facilities on how to enforce occupational health and safety requirements and precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Deployed brigades will receive a stipend.

Those who are interested must complete a form outlining terms and conditions on gcrajobcenter.gauteng.gov.za

The closing date for applications is 22 May at 4pm.
