Deppe shares compliance concerns in Ward 132

MIDRAND – Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe calls on complexes to strengthen their restrictions during the coronavirus lockdown.

Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe shares her views on compliance with coronavirus lockdown regulations among her residents in her ward.

Deppe said that some residents in the ward have complied well with regulations while others have not. “Some residents have been extremely good and disciplined, some are even contacting me to let me know [when someone contravenes regulations].” She added that the ward has benefited from some restrictions, especially the ban on alcohol which has seen a reduction in reckless driving cases from the police.

Deppe added that she has received reports of many complexes in her area where residents are not complying with the lockdown. Complaints include neighbours using common areas such as braai areas in their complexes and not limiting their movement within the complex.

She urged body corporates to put up aggression restrictions within their complexes and to make sure their residents are complying with the regulations and being responsible. She concluded, “We have done such a good job to curb the spread of the virus but we need to work together and have respect for one another by taking the lockdown seriously.”
