Guys, it’s the 10th Daredevil Run!

Be part of celebrating a decade of a male cancer awareness.

The 10th Daredevil Run is almost here! If you have never taken part, now is your chance. And if you have, there is no better time for you and your package to return to the 10th installment of this iconic cancer awareness event.

The last 10 Daredevil Runs have brought men together to raise awareness about cancers affecting men particularly prostate and testicular cancer. If you are not into running don’t worry, it’s not a race.  We are however trying send cancer packing by improving the publics’ knowledge and getting as many men tested as possible.

You don’t need to be someone who exercises regularly or be ripped to take part. The Daredevil Run is for every size of bicep, boep or bum. Come on guys, the distance is only 5km, you do more walking to the coffee machine and back in a week at  the office. You don’t even have to run! You and your mates can even quench your thirst by grabbing a beer at the halfway point and at the end of the run.

Just show up on the day and you can get yourself tested, prior to the run, or at the Hollard Campus when you pick up your race pack (see below). A Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test is used for screening as it can detect prostate cancer even before symptoms occur.

To obtain accurate PSA screening results, please refrain from cycling or sex beforehand!

The 2020 edition will be taking place on Friday the 13 March at Zoo Lake Sports Club, c/o Lower Park / Prince of Wales / Westwold, Parkwood.

It is as simple as:

  • A minimum donation of R100 (R50 for under 18’s) is required
  • R50 for a Daredevil Speedo if you’re a first timer or need a new one (Get yourself a special 10th anniversary edition with gold text!),
  • R10 for admin fees.

Your entrance donation will go to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. 80% of the donations go to the CANSA funding of the Hollard MANVan. 20% of the donations are given to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and are used for cancer awareness and research programmes.

It is so easy to enter! Team and individual entries can be completed either online (here) or at the Hollard Campus when you collect your entry pack (containing your ID wristband, race number and Speedo).

When and where do I pick up my entry pack (and register if I haven’t done so already)?

Note: Entry pack availability at Zoo Lake is extremely limited. To avoid disappointment, please ensure that packs are collected from the Hollard campus at the given times.

Stop talking bollocks and take care of your crowned jewels. Once you have booked your place all you have to do is have the balls to show up on the day, get tested and run (or walk) 5km. Bring your friends, your brothers, your neighbors and even the awkward guy from the office for a day devoted to men being honest about their health.
