Adopt one of these cuties from Pets

FOURWAYS – The Pets organisation has a number of animals up for adoption this week, here are the details of four dogs looking for their forever homes.

Are you looking for a new best friend? The Pet Empowerment in the Township (Pets) non-profit organisation has a number of dogs available for adoption this week.

Pets is a pro-life animal shelter that works to support pet owners in the informal settlement to care for their animals. Volunteers do a number of things to help animals in need, such as provide food, medical care, sterilisation and vet treatment where necessary. They also work to re-home cats and dogs that are abandoned, abused or stray into forever homes.

Potential adopters must fill in and submit an application form, agree to a home check and pay an adoption fee of R600 which includes a microchip, deworming, vaccinations and sterilisation if the animal is aged over six months.

Beatrix is an eight-week-old mixed-breed female. She is a strong-natured but a lovable and adventurous girl. She is excellent at communicating and making sure you know what she wants. Whether it’s when she wants her food, to get up on the bed or if she just wants your attention. She is the biggest of the four female puppies of her litter and has the most gorgeous soft face with a hint of mischief. She’s a sporty type who’s always busy, out and about in the garden. Teddy is a six-year-old chow-cross female. She is a medium-sized dog, is a very obedient girl who easily follows direction, walks very well on a lead and does not pull. She adores all people, young and old but has a visual impairment. She can see most things but struggles to focus on something close up. She needs a home with no open pools or access to the driveway. Otherwise, she copes absolutely fine, like a normal dog. Photo: Supplied
Jay-Jay is a three-year-old mixed-breed male. He is good with other dogs his own size (medium) and loves to play. Jay-Jay is a loyal and loving dog. He adores people and just wants to be with you and see where you are. He is very affectionate and loves to be cuddled and stroked. He is an escape artist so needs a home with a well-fenced garden. He is very special and to be the centre of Jay-Jay’s world is really wonderful as he adores the person that is his human. Photo: Supplied
