Over 70 arrested in crime-fighting operation

DOUGLASDALE – Thanks to law enforcement officials, over 70 suspects have been arrested in the Douglasdale policing precinct recently.


Over 70 suspects have been arrested recently as part of the fight against crime.

A joint crime-fighting operation, entitled operation Okae Molao, between the Douglasdale police, other police stations from the Joburg district and security companies was held on 6 February around the Douglasdale policing precinct. The operation, which was led by the Joburg District Commissioner Major General Max Masha, led to the arrest of 77 suspects from different parts of the Douglasdale policing area. Among the arrested suspects were 62 illegal immigrants, 14 people accused of contravening the Private Security Industry Regulation Act and one person arrested for dealing in marijuana.
