Dainfern College proudly celebrates its 19th year of a 100 per cent pass since the first matric class wrote their final exams in 2001.
The matric Class of 2019 upheld the school’s tradition of academic excellence by achieving a 100 per cent pass, 100 per cent access to tertiary education and a 94.28 per cent degree pass, with 66 of its 70 learners eligible to apply for university. The school’s top achiever was the head boy of 2019, Oluwaferanmi Oluwadairo, who achieved an outstanding seven distinctions for English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, life sciences, physical sciences and history.
Christopher Flood achieved a superb six distinctions for Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, engineering graphics and design, geography and physical sciences. He was also in the top one per cent of all IEB candidates for both geography and mathematics.
Ashleigh Keichel and Patrick Casserly each achieved five distinctions. Ashleigh achieved distinctions for English, Afrikaans, mathematical literacy, life orientation and business studies; and Patrick for English, mathematics, history, life sciences and physical sciences.
The school is very proud of the continued success of its holistic approach to education where matriculants achieve excellence across all areas, including academics. This approach thoroughly prepares learners for both tertiary education and the business world is borne out by the remarkable confidence and success of so many of the school’s alumni.
