An important Christmas present for Pet Empowerment in the Township

FOURWAYS – This Christmas, donate to the Pets spay and neutering drive and prevent thousands of unwanted animals from never being born.

This Christmas give a unique present by making a donation to a worthy cause on behalf of your loved one.

The Pet Empowerment in the Township (Pets) organisation is once again appealing to the public to donate to their sterilisation work as part of their Christmas sterilisation drive. For a donation of just R550, the Pets organisation will be able to have a dog or cat neutered or spayed and prevent generations of unwanted animals from ever being born.

Those who donate will receive a very special and personalised certificate to say thank you, which can then be given to a loved one as a gift more meaningful than most.

“That kind of gift is priceless,” said Nicole Badenhorst of Pets. “Want to know how to save thousands of lives? It starts by sterilising just one animal.”

An unsterilised female dog can breed twice a year with litters averaging between six and 10 puppies.

In just seven years of unregulated breeding, one unspayed cat and her offspring can produce 420 000 kittens and one unspayed dog can produce 97 000 puppies.

Pets will be accepting donations until 23 December in order to give volunteers enough time to still create the certificates. They ask that you email your proof of payment and the names of both the giver and receiver to heidi.hannig@gmail.com.

Pets is also a tax-exempt organisation and is able to Section 18A certificates if you require.
