Care in a bag

CHARTWELL NORTH – The Steyn City Foundation needs your help to bring happiness to Diepsloot. You are invited to get involved with their Pledge A Bag initiative.

Eight years ago, the Steyn City Foundation embarked on a journey that has changed lives and pledged to Deliver Happiness to Diepsloot.

Since then, they have done more than simply spread the festive cheer to learners at Diepsloot’s primary schools. Deliveries of school bags, crammed with goodies like stationery, sweets, water bottles and lunch boxes, have made learning much easier for these children. Last year, a gift of school shoes even helped keep children off the streets, as the long walk to school was made so much easier.

This year, the initiative is giving these special children schoolbags with sewn-in ponchos, helping to protect them against the elements and keep them warm and dry. Of course, the bags will be packed again with everything the kids will need for a successful school year.

You can help by pledging R200 for a schoolbag – a donation that will make all the difference to a child whose parents cannot afford these basic essentials.

The initiative also challenges you to spread the joy by tagging three Facebook friends so that they, too, can get involved in this fantastic initiative.

Visit www.pledgeabag.co.za for more information and simply SnapScan your pledge, it’s that simple.
