Young dreamers shine

BRYANSTON – The youngsters from Curro Castle Bryanston lit up the stage on 31 August when they performed their school concert at the Barnyard Theatre in Rivonia.

On 31 August, the learners, parents and staff of Curro Castle Bryanston flocked to The Barnyard Theatre Rivonia for the performance of their school concert titled We Are Dreamers.

The excitement ran high as most of these little children had the opportunity to be on the big stage for the first time in their lives. The Barnyard Theatre Rivonia provided their professional sound and lights on the morning and the performance looked like a real, professional Broadway show.

Learners from Group 3 and 4, aged three and four years old, took to the stage first in beautiful costumes, to present the first session of the We Are Dreamers show to a full house of 400 seats at the Barnyard. Even though the view from the stage must have been a daunting one, these little ones carried themselves so well and received a warm welcome and thundering applause from the excited crowd of parents and family members.

After a short interval, the second part of the show was performed by the Group 5 and Grade R learners, all of them five to six years old.

They were well-rehearsed, remembered all their lines, dance moves and songs, and a second crowd of 350 people went wild when they took to the stage. The feedback received by the school was overwhelmingly positive and all the praise went to the little showstopping learners.

“None of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of all my teachers and teacher assistants who worked tirelessly with our learners to ensure that they are prepared for their big day on stage,” principal of Curro Castle Bryanston, Sandra Cockeran commented.

“The rest of the staff also had a very big hand in the preparations for the concert and I could not be prouder of the CCB dream team.”

Marketer for Curro Castle Bryanston, Corlia Lourens, agreed. “I could not stop staring at the beautiful costumes and I had goosebumps with every new song the children performed.

They are so little but so talented and their determination to making the show as perfect as they could while having the most fun in the world made me so proud of them.”

Professional photographer for the school, Leana van Dyk from LVD Brand Brilliance, was present on the day and took stunning photographs of the learners in action. “CCB never disappoints,” she concluded.
