JOBURG – Various stories were told by various authors in the Magic Tent including the story of uMakhweyana by IsiZulu storyteller Zanele Ndlovu.

The panel at the South African book fair was asked by author Cynthia Jele how they make the switch from fiction to non-fiction.

The question allowed the audience to comment and engage the question about how the authors interrogate themselves as writers.

Azeeza Rangunwala read an excerpt from the panelists’ books on how patriarchy locates women’s worth in their capacity to labour.

Habib spoke on the manifestation and the build-up of #FeesMustFall while Chikane touched on the events that occurred in the country this past week.
