A 25-year-old man died on Tuesday night (27 August) after an alleged hit-and-run incident on the N1 north under the William Nicol Bridge in Fourways.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at 10.51pm to find the body of the man lying on the right-hand side emergency lane.
Meiring said that paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.
“The vehicle that had struck the man was not found on the scene,” said Meiring.
Local authorities were present on the scene for further investigations.
