The future of local business combines with food

COSMO CITY – It was a day for food and business networking during the recent networking with a difference organised by the Fourways Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It was a day of fantastic food and building up local business at the Fourways Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (FCCI) networking with a difference event hosted on 6 August.

The event, which takes place monthly, had its August event at the CaterMarket premises at the Cosmo Business Park from 9am until 11am which saw about 55 attendees from a number of businesses in the greater Fourways area. While munching on delicious breakfast foods produced for the occasion by the CaterMarket staff, those involved on the day used the opportunity to promote their business and network with other entrepreneurs in the area.

“This event is a wonderful networking and business opportunity,” explained Hein Kuhn, the branch manager for CaterMarket who helped set up the day.

“We wanted people to have the opportunity to eat delicious food, chat and have fun, so we didn’t include any long speeches. All the food available today is fresh and was made here.

“CaterMarket is a supplier of industrial equipment for kitchens, and we make sure we get the perfect fit for your business.”

Besides the wonderful snacks, networkers also had the chance to chat about their own business in a short pitch to those gathered for the event.

Business cards were collected in a bowl for a raffle, which saw an array of prizes given away. The event is part of FCCI’s ongoing efforts to promote and support local businesses.

“We want to drive business to the area for everyone to benefit from, big businesses or small,” explained Richard Lyon, a director of the FCCI.

“Let’s work with each other, support each other and create jobs for many.”

The next networking with a difference event will be hosted on 3 September from 9am to 11am at the Hirsch’s Fourways store in Pineslopes.
