Sandton police reveal latest crime trends in Paulshof and Lonehill

SANDTON – Take note of crime trends within the Sandton area.


The Sandton Police Station has highlighted some of the crime trends within the Sandton area.

In Sector 1, which covers Rivonia, Sunninghill, Woodlands and Woodmead, burglaries and theft out of motor vehicles were the biggest contribution to crime. Captain Granville Meyer, the spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station said that in most incidents the doors and windows were forced open in areas of interest. Targeted suburbs include Sunninghill and Woodmead.

These incidents took place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between 8am and 12pm and 12pm to 4pm. In Sector 2, which covers Bryanston, Lonehill and Paulshof, burglary contributed to crime in the sector. In most incidents, the doors were forced open to gain entry and electronic equipment was targeted.

These incidents took place between 4am to 8am on Thursday. The most targeted suburbs were Bryanston and Paulshof.

In Sector 3, the main crime committed was theft out of motor vehicles. This sector includes Morningside and Morningside Manor. Meyer added that most incidents occurred at places of interest where the suspects’ targeted electronic equipment.

These incidents mainly took place between 4pm and 8pm and 11pm on Tuesday and Thursday.
