Let’s get to work, Sunninghill

FOURWAYS – Ward 93 residents join ward councillor Candice James for a successful monthly cleanup campaign.

Sunninghill Community Ratepayers Association members, along with Ward 93 councillor Candice James, came together for A Re Sebetseng on 25 May.

Sunninghill-based security company, Savika Armed Response provided bottled water, while Coffee and Crunch provided biscuits ensuring that everyone remained energised throughout the clean-up.

Sunninghill resident, Steve Smith was also in the mix helping out fellow commuters ensuring the park looked neat while Ledile Mabisela, a Grade 10 learner from St Peter’s College, also helped out.

James explained the importance of having the learners from St Peter’s College join them for the clean-up.

“I’m hoping to create a connection between St Peter’s College learners and this park.

“Next month is Youth Month and we are looking to do some exciting things in this park on 15 June to commemorate Youth Month.”

James added that art students will bring creativity to the park. “Art Students will paint a mural collect litter and dig rings around the trees to protect the bark from grass cutters.”

*In the print edition of this article, Savika Armed Response was stated as providing bottled water, coffee and biscuits for the event. While Savika did provide bottled water, it was, in fact, Coffee and Crunch who provided biscuits for the clean-up. Steve Smith was incorrectly stated as the Sunninghill Estate Manager, this is incorrect and the Fourways Review apologises for the inconvenience caused by these errors and thanks community members who stepped forward to correct the facts.
