Diepsloot residents to receive mobile clinic

JOHANNESBURG – Mobile clinic to serve the community of Diepsloot and surrounding areas.

Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba together with MMC for Health and Social Development Mpho Phalatse received a mobile clinic donated by PPC Limited on 6 May.

Mashaba said the donation by PPC will enable the citizens to get access to proper health care. He added that the City will have 10 mobile clinics by the end of 2019.

“We have taken a decision to procure more of these mobile clinics,” said Mashaba.

“By end of this financial year in June we will have another one, so we will have two operational. The others will work obviously with the health department to identify areas where the needs are so by 2019 we will have 10 mobile clinics throughout the City. We will hope to increase these clinics as the City grows.”

The mobile clinic will serve the community of Diepsloot and surrounding areas. The donated mobile clinic boasts two consulting rooms, a screening area, a kitchenette and a toilet.

The MMC has assured Joburg residents that the mobile clinic will soon be operational. “We are just taking care of the last finishing touches. The vehicle is ready but there are a quite a few things that we need to take care of on the ground but on the first of June it will be operational,” said Mpho Phalatse.
