Ward 93 is ready for elections

FOURWAYS – Voting ballot paper to require patience and cooperation from residents.

The 8 May will see residents of different areas make their mark at different voting stations across the country. With ward councillors busy at this time of the year with arranging paperwork, organising special votes and ensuring voting stations are up and running before the big day Ward 93 councillor, Candice James, explained what goes on building up to the event.

“We are hard at work training our activists, to be observant on the day to ensure that these elections are free and fair, the IEC special votes application is now closed and about 40 000 special votes were applied for. Special votes will take place on 6 and 7 May, stations will be open from 9am to 5pm.”

James also detailed the roles of activists on the day. “They will oversee how many ballot papers were used and spoilt and obviously security process ensuring that boxes are sealed and no tempering is done.”

James further advised residents to arrive early at their respective voting stations. “The ballot paper is very long, each person will take up to four minutes, so we ask people to be patient and finally we urge everyone to go vote where they registered that way we can operate quicker.”
