Inaugural Gauteng Night Run set to ignite Arnold Classic Africa

JOBURG – Gauteng provincial government with Arnold Classic Africa wants you to get healthy and fit.


The first ever Gauteng Night Run will brighten up the Sandton streets on 16 May at Crawford College Sandton, a night before the start of Africa’s greatest sporting festival, The Arnold Classic Africa.

Summer bodies are made in winter and MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation Faith Mazibuko championed an overall healthy lifestyle and said they were happy to partner up with Arnold Classic Africa. “This event is another way in which we can help citizens be involved in regular exercise and help them to lead a healthy lifestyle which has numerous benefits to reducing various health issues.”

The fun run will be 8km long and will cater for everybody. The race starts at 7.30pm.

Mazibuko added, “Entries are now open, we welcome everyone to come and run, let’s fill up the streets.”

Entry fee is R180 per person, juniors and grandmasters (R100). It includes a T-shirt and a medal. Entries limited to 3 000 runners, applications close on 10 May.
