With the autumn chill in the air, the Autumn Garden Show is a perfect event to attend
MIDRAND – Great gardens start in autumn, so get down to this year's Autumn Garden Show at The Herb Farm from 5 to 7 April.
Change of the season brings new opportunities and a fresh start and autumn is the epitome of this with the chill of the air, crisp morning breeze, trees bursting with dusk of gold and russet leaves.
Autumn is here and, yes, it still the perfect time to plant. Great gardens start in autumn and to celebrate this inspiring season, make sure to visit the Autumn Garden Show, which returns for its second year at The Herb Farm, Summit Road, Midrand from 5 to 7 April.
Take the whole family out on a great walk through the beautiful herb garden, a vibrant celebration of the senses with bursts of colours of roses and blooms and the heady scents of herbs.
Visitors will also be treated to an educational herb tour through the spiral labyrinth garden, admire the spectacular orchids on display, taste heirloom tomatoes in numerous colours from every corner of the globe. If that’s not enough you can listen to free talks and demos from gardening celebrities.
You can also shop at the garden show which will be filled with plants, crafts and gardening goodies. With gin continuing its strong rise on the market, gin fanatics will be treated to a botanical gin at the MayFord Gin Garden. Grab lunch or a cup of tea in an enchanting setting.
To keep your kids busy the Starke Ayres kids’ zone will have fun planting demos, where the children can play on jungle gyms, complete an obstacle course and enjoy a pony ride through the garden.
