Shop for a good cause at SAID’s monthly book sale

MIDRAND – Join SAID on a fundraising book sale on 30 March.

The Society of Animals in Distress (SAID) has held monthly book sales for the past three decades as part of their fundraising efforts organised by their volunteers.

The last Saturday of every month draws in book lovers from all over who are looking to snatch up the best book deals and animals lovers alike to do their part by helping the Society of Animals in Distress.

Holy Doherty fundraising manager of SAID explained why the book sale will be held in Midrand instead of their usual location at The Zone in Rosebank,  “We’ve enjoyed a wonderful relationship with management at The Zone, but new developments and changing price structures at the centre, sadly mean that it has become difficult for SAID to continue at this location.”

“We’d hate for the fans of our book sale to walk away disappointed, so we’ve decided to bring the event right back home, to the SAID headquarters in Midrand.”

With the help of Book Sale Champions, the sale aims to raise funds for SAID to continue its work for domestic animals in underprivileged communities nationwide.

Those interested in making a donation can bring their well-loved books to the event, all proceeds will go to food, shelter and life saving medical care for the country’s most vulnerable animals.

Book sale prices range from R10 to R100.
