Mayor Herman Mashaba to launch two affordable housing projects

JOBURG – It is said that both housing projects aim to contribute to the City of Johannesburg's inner city revitalisation initiative.


Today, 5 March, the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba, will be launching the Albert Street and Fraser Housing projects.

In a statement issued by the office of the Executive Mayor, it is said that both housing projects aim to contribute to the City of Johannesburg’s inner city revitalisation initiative through the conversion of dilapidated buildings into habitable mixed-sized residential units.

“The Albert Street project comprises of 83 residential units, while the Fraser House transitional housing project, located on 60 Macintyre Street in Jeppestown, offers temporary housing from the homeless and some working homeless who earn an insufficient income to avoid long-term housing,” read the statement.
