DAINFERN – No arrests have been made in the death of a Dainfern woman who was shot in an armed robbery just before Christmas.

Update:

No arrests have yet been made in the murder of a woman in Dainfern in the days before Christmas.

On 22 December 2018, a woman died from her injuries after being shot during an armed robbery. The events unfolded at 9pm as a lift service was dropping off its passengers, two women and a child, at a housing complex on Broadacres Drive in the Dainfern area when she was hit by a stray bullet.

Before the passengers could exit the vehicle, a group of unidentified men in a white Hyundai started robbing the male occupant of the vehicle next to theirs, said Gauteng police spokesperson,

Captain Mavela Masondo, in the days after the incident. The woman was taken to Life Fourways Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.

The man in the vehicle was just arriving home. He was robbed of luggage, a laptop and other valuables but sustained no injuries in the shooting. A case of robbery and murder was opened.

“The case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made yet,” Lieuteant-Colonel Katlego Mogale told the Fourways Review. “It is suspected that the [robbery] victim might have been coming from the airport.”
