These are the operating hours for the City’s clinics this festive season

JOBURG – 'Please remember to be safe at all times, and seek medical attention sooner than later, should there be a need.'

MMC for Health and Social Development, Cllr Mpho Phalatse, writes:

 

The City of Johannesburg would like to inform and remind all residents that our clinics will continue to offer primary health care services this festive season.

The clinics that do not offer extended hours of service will be closed on Christmas and Day of Goodwill, 25 and 26 December, as well as, New Year’s Day, 1 January next year.

The following clinics [in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs] that offer extended hours of service will be open to ensure that access to health services are not interrupted:

The service hours for the following clinics will be on 24 and 31 December: 7am to 10pm and on 25 and 26 December as well as 1 January, 7.30am to 1.30pm:

Region A: Hikhensile Clinic

Region B: Randburg Clinic

Region C: Zandspruit Clinic.

The following clinics [in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs] will also be open on Saturdays from 7.30am to 1.30pm:

Region A: Mayibuye Clinic

Region E: Sandown Clinic, Thoko Mngoma Clinic in Marlboro and River Park in Lombardy East.

Phalatse further writes: 

“I urge all residents, especially those located near clinics with extended hours of service, to make use of this opportunity to access health service during the festive season.

“Our clinic staff are some of the hardest working people and continue to serving you with pride during this busy time. Their commitment to your health will ensure that you access the following services throughout all our facilities:

  • Immunisation;
  • Child Health, Growth Monitoring & Nutrition
  • Youth Friendly Services (YFS)
  • Women’s Health (e.g. antenatal care, Prevention of Mother-to-Child Treatment (PMTCT), postnatal care, cervical cancer screening)
  • Reproductive health services (e.g. Family Planning)
  • Men’s Health (e.g. Prostate cancer screening)
  • Screening services for Chronic diseases
  • Curative and Chronic Care
  • HIV Testing Services; AIDS Treatment and Adherence Clubs
  • Screening for Tuberculosis (TB) & Treatment of TB
  • Treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections
  • Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
  • Mental Health (Primary level)
  • Health education/ Promotion
    • Healthy lifestyle campaigns in the community, in partnership with a variety of stakeholders
  • Trauma and Emergencies – stabilise and refer/ transfer
  • Communicable Disease Prevention and surveillance
  • Pharmaceutical services
  • Laboratory services
  • PHC Outreach
    • Ward-based Outreach Teams (WBOT)
    • Health education and campaigns at schools (selected Primary and High schools)
  • Screening for substance abuse and referral
  • Integrated Extended Hour of services
