#CrimeBulletin: Here’s what’s been happening in Sector 4

MIDRAND – Here is a breakdown of the crimes reported in Sector 4 of Midrand over the last week.

Man’s car is stolen outside a pub

A case of theft of a motor vehicle was reported on 25 November. A man parked his car outside a pub in the Kyalami area. When he left the venue about four hours later, he noticed that a different vehicle was parked in the space where he had left his white Toyota before. The man checked with his tracking company, who told him that his vehicle had been taken to the East Rand.

Husband attacks estranged wife

A case of common assault was reported on 26 November. At about 8pm a man went to his estranged wife’s home and began shouting at his wife during a disagreement. He allegedly pushed her onto a sofa, forced her to get into his car, drove off with her and threatened to push her out of the vehicle while it was moving. The woman managed to escape the vehicle as the husband allegedly chased her with a firearm and called police while her husband fled the scene.

Man arrested over R18

A case of shoplifting was reported on 28 November. A man attempted to leave a grocery store in the Waterfall area, but as he walked out the exit the loss prevention alarm went off. Security searched the man and found a packet of gum, worth about R18, which the man had apparently not paid for. The police were called to the scene and the man was arrested.
