Star learner honoured at Blue Hills prize-giving

MIDRAND –Tetelo scored the highest out of all the students in the bursary admission test.

Blue Hills Preparatory held its prize-giving award ceremony in honour of its top learners, but there was one learner who stood out among the rest.

Head girl Tetelo Boitumelo Kgatle took home 14 awards including a scholarship for the Grade 8 academic year. The star learner, who enjoys reading and playing netball, claimed the Avid Reader and the Senior Netball Player of the Year awards.

The school is pleased by Tetelo’s achievements and wishes to brag about her successes.

“We are incredibly proud of her, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for this bright student of ours,” said Christine Delport, marketing manager of Bluehills School College.

The ceremony which was held on 11 November saw the top Grade 7 learner also win the Thuli Madonsela Award for Diligence.

It is no surprise that Tetelo scooped the Dux Award for achieving the highest aggregate in her grade after she achieved an average of 88 per cent.

As part of the school’s scholarship competition for Grade 8, learners are invited to write a bursary test, which will be awarded to the top five scoring students.

Tetelo scored the highest out of all the learners, applying both internally and externally.
