One airlifted, four others injured in R114 collision in Diepsloot

DIEPSLOOT – The driver of one of the vehicles was in a serious condition. Paramedics found him still trapped behind the steering wheel of the vehicle and had to extricate him.

Five people were injured, when four vehicles collided with each other on the R114 near the R511 in Diepsloot on 10 November.

Shortly after 7pm, ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on the scene where they found the vehicles scattered across the scene.

The driver of one of the vehicles was in a serious condition. Paramedics found him still trapped behind the steering wheel of the vehicle and had to extricate him.

He was then airlifted to Busamed Modderfontein for further medical care.

Four other patients from the incident were treated on the scene for minor to moderate injuries and later transported to hospital by ambulance.

Local authorities attended the scene.
