Buttercup Preschool children along with their parents enjoyed a drive-in movie day of a different kind.
According to the school’s Nadine Davidson, the children arrived in their bright, unique homemade cars. “Some had made sports cars, some were trucks, some were army tanks, you name it we had it. All the cars were parked in rows like one would do at the ‘drive-in’ as they were then given popcorn while they watched their movie.”
When asked the motive behind drive-in movie Davidson said, “We decided to do something totally different so that the parents could partake in it too. There was a method behind our madness. This was to encourage quality time at home with the children and their parents in making a fun cardboard box car for this event.”
Davidson, who came up with the movie day idea, explained that the little ones enjoyed every minute of it and were proud of their cardboard cars that they could sit in. “The parents seemed outstandingly enthusiastic and excited by the making of this project and the event.”
The Buttercup Preschool is 15 years old and regards itself as a home away from home in Lonehill Beverley. “We were awarded Best Preschool in Johannesburg by Best of Joburg and endeavour to hold our title, but more importantly, we are a family and so passionate about what we do.”
