WATCH: Community shows tremendous support for Ark this Mandela Day

CHARTWELL – Community members and businesses came out in full force to show their support for the call to action by the centre and Fourways Review.

Ark Animal Centre and the Fourways Review joined forces on Nelson Mandela Day this year to appeal for the community to donate second-hand goods to the centre’s new charity store.

The community did not disappoint, heeding this call to action by donating second-hand goods, dog blankets and a mountain of dog food.

IN VIDEOS: This is how the day unfolded:

Early in the morning, Ark’s Candice Eilertsen described how the centre chose to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day this year.

By midday, the centre’s Tracy Otto described how the day was going and showed what community members had donated so far.

To end off the day, Otto went on to describe what was collected over the course of the day and the tremendous support that the community showed.

The Fourways Review‘s involvement formed part of the Caxton Cares initiative.
