Magistrate David Mahongo dismissed an appeal application launched by Preshalin Naidoo.
Naidoo was appealing the sentence and conviction.
On 18 June, Mahongo sentenced Naidoo to 10 years imprisonment after finding him guilty on two counts of culpable homicide.

Naidoo is the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash in which TV presenter, Simba Mhere and his friend Kady-Shay O’Bryan died in January 2015.
Immediately after the judgement on the appeal application was made, Naidoo’s attorney made a bail application pending his petition to the Judge President, however, that was also denied.
Naidoo is remanded in custody and has already started serving his 10-year jail term.
