#HowTo: Make a difference on #WorldEnvironmentDay [VIDEO]

JOBURG – World Environment Day is the United Nation's most significant day of the year for encouraging worldwide awareness and action regarding the preservation of our environment.

The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) is urging the community to contribute towards saving our planet by being part of the worldwide movement taking place today, 5 June, as well as for the rest of the month.

World Environment Day is the United Nation‘s most significant day of the year for encouraging worldwide awareness and action regarding the preservation of our environment.

Every year, 91 countries, and hundreds of green awareness campaigns and organisations, including TGRC, come together to celebrate this significant day concerning our environment.

This year’s theme for World Environmental Day is Beat Plastic Pollution and invites more people and countries to consider making changes in their everyday lives to help reduce the heavy pollution of plastic in order to benefit our environment.

Tips on how you can participate and make a difference this World Environment Day:

  • Raise Awareness about World Environmental Day.
  • Plan an Event – plan a mini event by celebrating this day with friends or colleagues.
  • Social Media Participation – Use your social media platforms on the day to stir conversation about World Environmental Day.
  • Take Responsibility – Practice what you preach and get involved.

As an organisation mandated to promote the practice of recycling and the reuse of glass bottles and jars, The Glass Recycling Company together with other global organisations will also be participating by celebrating World Environmental Day in hopes of encouraging more people to recycle, not just plastic according to this year’s theme, but other recyclable objects such as glass bottles and jars.
