Unity College hosts special event

CHARTWELL – The evening sold out a few days before it was hosted and the 94 guests enjoyed a three-course meal in support of the special needs school located in Chartwell.

Unity College hosted a memorable fundraiser on 18 April at the Bella Anima vegetarian restaurant. The evening sold out a few days before it was hosted and the 94 guests enjoyed a three-course meal in support of the special needs school located in Chartwell.

“The reason we’re here tonight is to show our community who the Unity family is,” said Michelle Kirk, advancement officer for the school. “People will enjoy lovely food and also support Unity College.”

Along with the meal, there was live entertainment, an auction of luxurious prizes, and the chance to learn more about the school when acting principal Anita Wylie gave the welcoming speech before the starters were brought out, and also interviewed one of the school’s pupils to talk about his experiences.

Raunak Paul, who is in Unity College’s senior phase and has been with the school for about 15 years, his parents Anindita and Survra Paul answered questions about the friends Raunak has made and the things he’s learned, as well as the work experience programmes he took part in during his years.

The school was founded 28 years ago.
