Abide by the rules of the road or face the might of the law, says Wayne Minnaar

With Easter soon approaching, community members are urged to abide by road rules these Easter holidays or face the full might of the law. This statement is according to Metro police’s Chief Superintendent, Wayne Minnaar.

“We expect motorists to obey the rules of the road during these holidays. We anticipate fewer accidents and expect motorists to exercise caution during this time,” Minnaar explained.

He said it was important for motorists:

• Not to drink and drive
• To stick to the speed limit
• Not to overtake on a bend
• Not to overtake on a solid line
• Not to overtake where the view is not clear
• To buckle up when driving.

“This is our bid to reduce road bloodshed over the Easter period and we as the Metro police wished to remind motorists to abide by the road rules during these holidays to avoid being arrested and thrown in jail.”
