17 taxis impounded on Witkoppen Road

FOURWAYS – The taxis were found to be unroadworthy and drivers were driving on the wrong side of the road.

The Joburg Metro police have impounded 17 taxis on Witkoppen Road in the Fourways area for driving on the wrong side of the road and for operating unroadworthy vehicles.

This is according to a media statement posted Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department – JMPD Facebook page on 2 March. 

The statement by Metro police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar further read, “Operation Buya Mthetho is focused at getting drivers to obey the rules of road and will go to other hotspots next week.”
