Douglasdale police together with Midrand police and other stakeholders recently held the Crossboarder crime prevention operation along the Jukskei River between Steyn City and Main Road.
According to the head of communications for Douglasdale Police Station, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, the purpose of the operation was to address house robberies, common robberies and possession of housebreaking implements.
“The operation was attended by different stakeholders which include the police, the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum, Neighborhood Watch, Fidelity, Night Guard and TRSS Security as well as ER24 emergency services,” Tshetlhane said.
Tshetlhane said that during the operation dagga plants were recovered.
“We also remind the community not to buy illegal drugs as this is also contributing to crime. Always remember to say ‘fighting crime begins with me’ and report all the criminal activities to the police by contacting the station.”
